Instead, Bioware Montreal will be taking over control as the new development team for the developer’s hit science fiction epic. Bioware’s Montreal studio isn’t unfamiliar with the space RPG series, as they are the team responsible for the “Mass Effect 3’ multiplayer mode as well as many of the game’s cutscenes. The studio head in charge of the next “Mass Effect”, Yanick Roy, had the following to say.

The other thing I can tell you is that, while it will be very respectful of the heritage built over the course of the first three games, with the original trilogy now concluded and the switch over to a new engine, we are exploring new directions, both on the gameplay and story fronts. You can still expect the pillars the franchise is known for to be fully intact though, including diverse alien races, a huge galaxy to explore, and of course rich, cinematic storytelling.

Randy Pitchford, President of Gearbox Software, confirmed that the next “Borderlands 2” DLC will be releasing by the end of this year. DLC for the game has releases at a steady pace since the title’s September release. Another add-on releasing before the new year leaves the add-on less than two months left in this year to come out in, meaning fans will likely see the release of the game’s next downloadable content next month. It isn’t clear whether this new coming DLC will be a part of the “Borderlands 2” season pass or not, but Pitchford stated that details on the DLC will come soon. Later this morning he went on to tweet that a new DLC will come before another character class for the game, confirming that the next “Borderlands 2” add-on will not be the game’s sixth playable class.

The upcoming entry for the open-world series from Rockstar Games featured an 18 page blowout as the magazine’s latest cover story. This is the first true bit of details released for the game since it was officially announced one year ago when Rockstar Games revealed the title’s first teaser trailer.

“Grand Theft Auto V” is set to release in the spring of 2013. The game will featured three different playable characters which fans may switch between in-game at almost any time. The game map has been stated to be larger than the size of “Grand Theft Auto IV”, “GTA: San Andreas”, and “Red Dead Redemption” combined.

The story of Commander Shepard may be over, but the Mass Effect franchise will still live on. Bioware’s Casey Hudson, Executive Producer of the Mass Effect series, confirmed today that the developer has officially began work on the next Mass Effect title and is asking fans to tell him what they wish to see in the next game via Twitter. It has been hinted in the past that the Mass Effect franchise isn’t done yet, but this is the first concrete statement the company has made that confirms a new game is being worked on.

Fans shouldn’t get their hopes up to take on the role of Commander Shepard again. Bioware has stated that the story of the protagonist from the earlier games is completed. Meaning gamers will likely take control of an entirely new character in the next Mass Effect title.

Bethesda announced today that the third DLC add-on for “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim” will be releasing next month. Entitled Dragonborn, the download will be available for 1600 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live starting December 4.

This marks the third purchasable add-on for “The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim”. It will also, unfortunately, be the third time that DLC for the game won’t be available for the Playstation 3. At this time, Dragonborn is not scheduled to release on the PS3. Considering the previous two add-ons have skipped Sony’s console, fans shouldn’t be surprised to learn that Dragonborn isn’t releasing for the Playstation 3 either.
